Rankings in Junior Under -18 Boys & Girls:

Boys: 1st Place – Chennai, 2nd Place – Kancheepuram and 3rd Place – Vellore Districts,

Girls: 1st Place – Thiruvallur, 2nd Place – Chennai and 3rd Place – Cuddalore Districts,

Rankings in Senior Men & Women:

Men: 1st Place – Chennai, 2nd Place – Kancheepuram and 3rd Place – Tamilnadu Police

a) Mr. S.SARANRAJ has been selected to represent India Men’s Championship. Div-3, 15 aside Rugby Championship

b) Miss. R.PRIYADHARSHINI from Government Higher Secondary School of Okkiyam, Thuraipakkam in Kanchipuram of Tamilnadu was selected for the Societe General Kids Rugby Sports Festival.

c) Mr. A.VENKATESAN from Tamilnadu was selected to the JENESYS programme 2019.

Achievements 2018-2019

Tamilnadu State Men & Women Rugby Team Participated in the 2018 Societe Generale Senior National Rugby Sevens Championship for both Men & Women held at Punjab University in Chandigarh from 22nd to 24th June, 2018. Tamilnadu State Men & Women Rugby Team ranks Seventh position among 24 states of India

Madurai Veerans Rugby Club of Tamilnadu State Senior Men’s XV’s Rugby Team participated in the 2018 Callaghan Cup – ALL India National Division – II Rugby XV’s Championship for both Men &Women held at Ludhiana, Punjab from 30th October to 4th November, 2018. Madurai Veerans Men’s XV’s Rugby club won the Second place - 1st Runner-Up and qualified for the Division – I.

Tamilnadustate School Games Under-14, 17, & 19 Boys & Girls Rugby Team participated in the 64th National School Games Rugby Under – 14, 17 & 19 Boys & Girls Championship 2018-19 held at KIIT University in Bhubaneswar, Odisha from 26th December to 31st December, 2018. Tamilnadu state Under - 14 Girls Rugby Team won the First position and Tamilnadu state Under -17 Boys Rugby Team won the

Second Position in the Under – 14 & 17 age category.

V.ANITHA of Tamilnadu State Girls Rugby Team was selected to represent Indian National Under – 18 Girls Rugby Team that participated in the Asian Rugby Under – 18 Girls Sevens Championship held at Kalingastadium in Bhubaneswar, Odisha from 26th to 28th October, 2018.

Achievements 2017-2018

i) With Indian Rugby Union jointly conducted the 2017 Societe Generale 3rdJunior National U-18 Rugby Sevens Championship at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Chennai on 10th & 11th June 2017.

ii) At the First Leg South Zone Rugby Sevens Championship at Bangalore, Tamilnadu Men’s team were the WINNERS and Women’s team were RUNNER-UP.

iii) Tamilnadu Team participated in the 2017”Senior National Rugby 7’s Championship for both Men & Women at Pataliputra Sports Complex, Patna, Bihar from 11th to 13th August 2017.

iv) South India-Second Leg South Zone Rugby Sevens Championship at Indus Valley School, Karnool, Andhra Pradesh. Tamilnadu Men’s teams were the Winners and Tamilnadu Women teams were the Runner-up.

v) “2017 Callaghan Cup” All India National Division II Rugby XV Championship held at Sawai Mansingh Stadium, Jaipur, Rajasthan from 1st to 5th November 2017. Tamilnadu Men’s team won the THIRD Place and qualified for Division-1

vi) Third Leg of South Zone Rugby Sevens Championship were held at Gymkhana Ground Secundrabad held on 3rd December 2017. Tamilnadu Women’s team were the WINNERA and Senior Men team were the RUNNER-UP.

vii) Tamilnadu Boys & Girls U-14 participated in the 2017 Societe Generale Sub-Junior Nationals Touch Rugby Championship at Gymkhana Ground, Secundrabad on 12th & 13th January 2018. Girls Team were the WINNERS and Boys team were FOURTH.

Achievements 2016-2017

a) Chennai Cubs Rugby Football Club were the Runner-up at All India under 18 Rugby 7’s Tournament.

2. Tamilnadu Team participated in the Senior Nationals Rugby 7’s Championship at Patna, Bihar from 5th to 7th August 2016 and qualified for the Federation Cup Championship.

3. Tamilnadu State Under-18 Boys team were the Runner-up in the All Indian Junior Nationals at Mumbai on 20th & 21st October 2016.

4. Tamilnadu State Sub-Junior Boys Team were the Winners of the 2016 Sub-Junior Nationals held at Gandhinagar, Gujarat from 13th to 17th January 2017.

Achievements 2015-2016

1. Tamilnadu State Men & Women Rugby team participated in the 2015 Senior National Rugby 7’s Tournament at Patna from 24th to 26th July 2015.

2. Junior National U-19 Boys Rugby Tournament at Bhubaneswar, Odisha from 19th to 20th September 2015.

5 Players were selected to attend the Indian Camp for Uzbekistan & Pakistan Rugby Tournament for Asian U-19 Championship.

3. Men Rugby team participated in the “2015 CALLAGHAN CUP” – Division II tournament at Cuttack from 9th to 13th December 2015.

4. Tamilnadu State U-14 Boys team won the Bronze Medal in the All India Sub-Junior Nationals at Gujarat on 13th & 14th January 2016.

1. All India U-20 Men National Rugby 7’s Tournament held at Bhubaneswar, Odisha from 4th to 6th July 2014.

2. All India Women’s National Rugby 7’s Tournament held at Bhubaneswar, Odisha from 4th to 6th July 2014.

3. Inter-city Pune Cup 7’s Tournament at Mumbai on 18th October 2014.

4. Senior National Men’s Rugby 7’s Championship on 6th & 7th December 2014 at Kolkata, West Bengal.

5. 35th National Games Rugby 7’s (Men & Women) held at Kollam, Kerala from 11th to 13th February 2015.
