History
Tamilnadu Olympic Association was formed in the year 1979. The Association was registered under Societies Act with Reg. No.106 of 1979. Dr. B.Sivanthi Adityan was the President and Mr. R.Subarayan as Secretary were unanimously elected. The Association was formed with 15 Members affiliated with it.
In the Special Meeting held on 10th May 1979 Mr. A.Ramana Rao and Mr. M.Tamilselvan were honored for the Arjuna Awards received in 1978 from Tamilnadu sportsmen.
M/s. E.Karunakaran and R.Ganasekaran were honoured for the Gold Medals won at the XI Commonwealth Games at Edmonton in 1978 and the 8th Asian Games held in Bangkok during the year 1978.
On 24th May 1983, Dr. K.Murugan was elected as Honorary Secretary.
In the year 1990, due to sports code Dr. B.Sivanthi Adityan stepped down from the President’s post and Mr. C.R.Visswanathan was elected as President for a term of 4 years.
In the year 2013 our beloved President Dr. B.Sivanthi Adityan expired and Mr. W.I.Davaram, IPS (DGP Retd.,) took over as President.
In the year 2017, TNOA General Body Election, Mr. N.Ramachandran as President and Mr. J.M.Fernando as General Secretary.
In the Year 2021, TNOA General Body Election, Mr. N.Ramachandran as Executive President, Dr. Ishari K. Ganesh as President and Shri Aadhav Arjuna as General Secretary were elected, who are continuing
